Removal and installation the windshield washer (Opel Astra J)

You will need: 10 mm socket head, flat blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the front bumper (see Removal and installation the front bumper).



3. Remove the washer reservoir filler neck.



4. Remove the pump by pulling its inlet nipple out of the sealing bushing in the tank opening.



5. Squeeze the clamps…





6. …and disconnect the right one from the pump fittings…



7. …and the left hoses.



8. Squeeze the latch…



9. …disconnect the wiring harness connector from the pump…





10. …and remove the pump.



11. Remove the hoses and wires from the holders on the washer reservoir.



12. Unscrew the washer reservoir mounting nut…



13. …and remove the tank from the car.



14. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Windshield washer jets are installed in the air intake box grille. To replace the washer jets, perform the following operations.



1. Disconnect the air intake box grille from the body (see Removal and installation the air intake box grille).

Note: This is how the windshield washer jets are located.

2. Remove the washer fluid supply tube from the nozzle.





3. Press the latch..



4. …and remove the windshield washer nozzle.



5. Remove the second jet in the same way.

6. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
