Replacement of the rear window wiper motor (Opel Astra J)

You will need: wrenches "13", "10", flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Mark the position of the wiper blade on the glass.



3. Release the edges of the protective cap…



4. …and take it off.



5. Unscrew the fastening nut…





6. …and remove the windshield wiper arm.

7. Remove the rear door trim (see Removal and installation the rear door trim).



8. Use a screwdriver to press the wiring harness connector lock…



9. …and disconnect the block from the gear motor.



10. Remove the three bolts securing the rear door windshield wiper motor reducer bracket…





11. …and remove the gear motor.

12. If necessary, remove the sealing bushing from the rear window glass opening. Replace any bushing that is heavily compressed, hardened, or torn.

13. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
