Note: Regardless of the filter version, the replaceable paper elements are interchangeable.
15. The procedure for removing the filter with a replaceable element is given above (see paragraphs 4, 5). Engines Z16XEP, Z18XE (R) and Z20LE (L/H/R) are equipped with a non-separable fully replaceable filter. Their dismantling is carried out at the service station using special tools (see resist. illustration) or you can simply pierce the side of the filter housing with a sharp screwdriver and use the screwdriver as a lever to unscrew the filter. After unscrewing the filter, in order not to spill the oil, let it drain into a container prepared in advance for this.
Note: On engines with a displacement of 1.6, 1.8 l, the oil filter is located in front of the engine (when viewed in the direction of the car), and on engines with a volume of 2 liters - behind the engine on the oil pump, near the multirib belt.
16. When replacing the filter element, it is imperative to replace the seals (see resist. illustration). As a rule, they are included in the replacement element kit - check their availability when buying. If they are not included in the package, do not forget to purchase them additionally.
17. Before installing the one-piece filter, wipe the filter seat on the engine block with a clean rag, if necessary, remove the remnants of the old sealing gasket, lubricate the sealing gasket of the new filter with clean engine oil.
18. Screw in the new oil filter by hand until there is slight resistance (the gasket pressed against the motor flange), then tighten the filter an additional one and a half turns.
Note: The filter housing may contain additional information on its installation.
19. On the Z13DTH diesel engine, reinstall the engine cover (see chapter 2).
