Note: Visual inspection is carried out without dismantling the equipment and lining. If leaks or excessive consumption of operating fluids are detected (fuels, oils, etc.) subsequent work is carried out in agreement with the owner of the car.
During routine maintenance between scheduled maintenance, the car owner is advised to check the air pressure in the tires, the level of engine oil and coolant, washer fluid for glass cleaning, etc. at least once a month - making adjustments as necessary.
Note: When operating the vehicle in countries where fuel is used that does not meet European standards (EN 228 for gasoline or EN 590 for diesel), more frequent maintenance of filters and some other elements of the fuel supply, lubrication, ignition systems and a reduction in the intervals between scheduled maintenance and oil changes may be required.
Every 15,000 km or once a year (what comes first)
- Visually inspect indicator lamps and instruments, exterior and interior lighting, horn, anti-theft devices, and airbag system.
- Check the condition and adjustment of the windshield wipers and washers of windows and headlights.
- Perform a visual inspection of the engine, transmission, air conditioning compressor for leaks.
- Check the level and concentration of antifreeze (color light orange), make the appropriate adjustments. Check the radiator for leaks and external contamination.
- Check the reliability of the fastening of the terminals and the charge of the battery.
- Perform visual control of steering mechanisms and control of the functioning of the hydraulic booster (power steering), check the level of the working fluid, make the appropriate adjustment.
- Check the brake fluid level.
- Check vehicle systems using the TESN-2 diagnostic tool
- Change engine oil and oil filter (when using ACEA-AZ / VZ, V4 oil).
- Perform a visual inspection of the anthers of steering mechanisms, tie rods.
- Check the condition of the tie rod ends, ball bearings and CV joints, the condition of their anthers.
- Lubricate door hinges and door stops, lock cylinders, strikers, hood latch (for Zafira every 2 years).
- Check body exterior/underbody corrosion protection, record any damage found in «Service book».
- Take a test drive, make a final check (checking the steering, ignition switch, instruments and indicator lamps, brake system, air conditioning system, engine and chassis systems).
- If equipped, reset the counter of the active scheduled maintenance warning system.
Note: For the 1.9L diesel engine, the oil change is made without changing the filter.
Note: Be sure to remove the old grease from the travel stops before applying new grease.
Note: Checking the condition and tension of the multi-ribbed belt is carried out every 30,000 km of run, but at least 1 per year (for Zafira every 2 years)
Every 30,000 km or every 2 years (what comes first)
In addition to the above works:
- Check the remote control, replace the battery (don't forget the spare key!).
- Replace the carbon filter of ventilation, heating and A/C systems.
- Drain condensate and replace fuel filter element (diesel models).
- Check the levers and elastic elements of the front and rear suspension, shock absorbers, pipes and hoses of the brake system, fuel lines and gas equipment (with appropriate equipment) and adjust the parking brake (with unloaded wheels).
- Make a visual inspection of the front and rear brake mechanisms, check the thickness of the brake linings.
- Perform a visual inspection of the ride height control system and the exhaust system.
- Check the tire pressure monitoring system (with appropriate equipment).
- Check the torque of the wheel bolts, tighten with the required force (110 Nm) - be careful not to damage the tire pressure monitoring system.
- Check tire condition and air pressure (including the spare wheel) and making appropriate adjustments.
- Perform a visual inspection of the first aid kit.
- Check and adjust the angle of inclination of the optical axes of the headlights.
Note: When operating in conditions of high air humidity and/or low-quality fuel, condensate must be drained at least once a year.
Note: The taper of the wheel bolts must be lubricated with grease or oil during assembly.
Note: For vehicles equipped with a tire repair kit, check the completeness of the kit every year, replace the bottle of sealant every 4 years - check the expiration date!
Every 60,000 km or 4 years (what comes first)
- Replace the air cleaner element.
- Replace the external fuel filter of gasoline or gas engines (when using EN 228 fuel).
