Note: The system does not take into account the downtime of the car with the battery disconnected when calculating the time for the next scheduled maintenance and should be taken into account when displaying warning messages.
With the corresponding version, the intervals until the next maintenance are calculated depending on the operating mode, taking into account the following factors: mileage traveled, engine speed, engine torque, driving cycles, coolant and engine oil temperatures.
The remaining mileage until the next service can be displayed on the service indication display (see chapter «Controls and methods of operation», Section 16), for which, when the ignition is off, you must press the button (see illustration 16.1 of the Chapter «Controls and methods of operation») a resettable mileage counter in the lower right part of the instrument cluster - the vehicle mileage in kilometers will be displayed in the display field, when the button is pressed again and held down for about 2 seconds, the indicator will appear in the display field «InSP» and the number of kilometers remaining until the next maintenance, for example, «10000».
When the remaining mileage to the next service is less than 1500 km, when the ignition is switched on, the service display automatically lights up the indicator «InSP» with the remaining run. When the remaining distance is less than 1000 km, the display shows «InSP 0» - it is necessary to carry out scheduled maintenance within 1 week or a run of 500 km. After performing maintenance work, the counter must be reset. When performing work at Opel branded service stations, the station specialists reset the system readings. If needed (if the service was performed on the terms of the branded service station) the reset can be done by the car owner himself:
- Turn on the ignition and return the key to its original position again;
- Hold down the button on the instrument cluster (see above) within approximately 3 seconds - the service display will show the corresponding indication of the mileage remaining until the next maintenance;
- With the button pressed, depress the brake pedal;
- Turn on the ignition - the counter will be reset to zero and the indication will flash on the display «InSP —»;
- Continue to hold the button and the brake pedal until the counter changes - after about 10 seconds, the indication of the maximum mileage until the next service for the specific model will be displayed («InSP 35000», «InSP 50000» or «InSP 30000» - see above).
- When you release the brake pedal and the button on the instrument cluster, a new reading is automatically stored in the system memory, while the counter for the time until the next maintenance is set to 24 months, and the counter for the interval until the engine oil change is set to 100%.
Note: If the system display was reset by accident, you should contact Opel's workshop specialists to restore the original data.
