The flawless operation of the engine depends on the good condition of the breaker contacts. Over time, burnt spots form on the contact surfaces, which will gradually have a negative effect on starting the engine. Badly burned contacts should therefore be replaced (at the latest every 20,000 km).
During the inspection, the slider of the breaker lever must be lubricated with a small amount of grease for the ignition distributor.
Every 15,000 km it is necessary to unscrew the spark plugs, clean them from the outside and adjust the electrodes. Every 30,000 km, the spark plugs must be replaced. Screw in the spark plugs by hand and tighten slightly.
The electronic ignition system is maintenance-free.
The distributor head, the power terminal on the ignition coil and the ignition cable must always be kept dry to prevent leakage currents.
