1.6-/1.8-l engines are equipped with a non-contact transistor ignition system (TSZ-H). In the case of work in the ignition system, certain rules must be strictly observed in order to exclude injuries to the maintenance personnel and damage to the ignition system.
The ignition system consists of:
- ignition coils,
- distributor with automatic adjustment of the ignition timing and a controlled element (Breaker contact/Inductive sensor/Hall sensor),
- spark plugs.
In the ignition coil, the 12 V battery voltage is converted to a voltage of 15000-20000 V.
The task of the ignition distributor is to induce an ignition control signal and direct the high voltage generated in the ignition coil to a specific spark plug.
A spark occurs at the electrodes of the spark plugs, igniting the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder.
