General information
The design of the HVAC control panel with the automatic temperature control function is shown in Figure 18.3b. The left rotary knob is designed to select the average value of the temperature maintained in the car interior, the central rotary knob controls the system through the information display menu, and the right rotary knob allows you to set the airflow intensity in manual system control mode.
AUTO mode is basic. This mode can be used all year round, regardless of seasonal temperature changes - the system independently regulates the intensity and direction of air supply, as well as the temperature of the air flow based on user-defined temperature settings, air temperature inside the passenger compartment and outdoor atmospheric conditions. The system provides automatic compensation for changes in temperature inside the passenger compartment due to external influences, such as sunlight.
Note: Full climate control functions are only available when the engine is running.
Indication of the current operating mode of the system is displayed at the bottom of the information display in the central field (between outdoor temperature and chronometer) (see illustration 18.4).
Note: Depending on the display model, the image may be different.
When you lock the car with the remote control, the climate control settings are stored in the remote control's memory (see Section 8).
The choice of parameters for the functioning of the system is possible in manual mode by controlling through the menu of the information display (see below).
Automatic system operation mode (climate control)
To activate the system in automatic mode, press the button located on the left side of the control panel «AUTO», fully open the nozzles of the rotary deflectors (see above), activate the air conditioner via the relevant information display menu (see below) and set the left rotary knob to the value of the average temperature that should be maintained in the cabin (see below).
If there is no need for cooling and drying the air, the air conditioner can be turned off - the display will show the inscription «Yeso». This mode of automatic HVAC operation reduces fuel consumption, but the level of comfort in the cabin may decrease.
Note: It is not recommended to use this mode when the car windows are fogged up. In addition, when the outdoor temperature rises, system malfunctions may occur.
The system is deactivated by pressing the AUTO button again.
System activation/deactivation and manual airflow adjustment
To activate the system, turn the right rotary knob (see illustration 18.5). select fan speed (positions 1 to 4). When the knob is turned, the indication of the selected air flow intensity mode is displayed in the corresponding field of the display.
If you select the position of the regulator O, the system will be deactivated.
To return to automatic mode, press the button «AUTO» — the choice of airflow intensity will be made automatically.
Manual airflow direction selection
The direction of airflow distribution can be set by the user by turning the central knob (see illustration 18.3b) — icons corresponding to the selected mode are alternately displayed in the display field. The meanings of the pictograms are given in the description of HVAC with manual setting (see above).
To return to automatic mode, press the -AUTO button».
Temperature management
Left rotary control (see illustration 18.3b) Selecting the temperature mode sets the average temperature that must be maintained in the cabin. When the knob is turned, the set temperature value is displayed in the corresponding field of the display. The temperature value can be set between 16°C and 28°C. Under normal conditions, it is recommended to set the regulator to 22°C. In automatic mode, when the average temperature value changes within the specified limits, the temperature in the cabin will change gradually.
Note: On models with Ouickheat, an additional electric heater is installed to warm up the interior more quickly.
To quickly change the temperature, turn the rotary control beyond the specified values. When the temperature is set below 16°C, the display will show the inscription «Lo» - the system will operate in maximum cooling mode without temperature control. When the temperature is set above 28°C, the display will show the inscription «Hi» - the system will operate in maximum heating mode without temperature control.
Air circulation mode
The circulation mode prevents the penetration of exhaust gases, unpleasant odors, dust, as well as pollen from plants that cause allergic reactions into the passenger compartment.
Attention: As soon as it is no longer necessary to isolate the passenger compartment, the fresh air supply must be restored!
The air circulation mode is activated using the switch button on the control panel - the control LED built into the button should light up.
Note: Prolonged use of the circulation mode leads to fogging of the windows and an increase in the stuffiness of the air, therefore it is recommended to activate this mode only if it is really necessary and for a relatively short time.
Pressing the switch button again restores the air supply.
With the appropriate configuration, the automatic air circulation control system registers, using a special sensor, the presence of harmful impurities in the air entering through the air intake and automatically switches to the circulation mode. When the concentration of harmful impurities in the outdoor air decreases to acceptable limits, the system will automatically turn off the circulation mode.
Note: When the outdoor temperature is low and the air conditioner is turned off, the automatic activation of the air circulation mode function is blocked to prevent fogging of the windows. If necessary, turn on the air circulation mode manually.
Activation / deactivation of the automatic air circulation function is carried out through the menu of the information display (see below).
System setup via display menu
If necessary, the setting of the HVAC system parameters can be done manually via the information display menu.
To call up the system setup menu, press the central rotary control (see illustration 18.6) — the corresponding menu will be shown on the display. Individual menu items are selected by turning the central knob, the selection is confirmed by pressing it. When confirming the selection of some items, a menu of this item appears - the selection of parameters in it is carried out in a similar way.
To close the menu it is necessary to select the items Return or Main with the central regulator and confirm the choice. Manual settings after the ignition is turned off remain recorded in the system's memory.
The functions that can be set via the display menu are described below.
