Control System (Check Control) (Opel Astra H)

            0

The control system monitors the main operating parameters that determine the safety of the vehicle. Depending on the configuration, the levels of liquids, air pressure in the tires, the state of the power supply element of the remote control device, the serviceability of the anti-theft alarm device, as well as the serviceability of the most important external lighting lamps, including wiring and fuses, are checked.

Note: When using with a trailer, the external lighting of the trailer is also monitored.

If a malfunction is detected in any of the systems, a corresponding warning message appears in the display field. If there are several warning messages, they are displayed one after the other.

Note: Some warning messages are displayed using abbreviations.

When a message is displayed on the screen, you must confirm its receipt as described above.

Below are the most important warning messages:
  • Remote Control/Battery checkVoltage of the power supply element of the remote control device or electronic key (Open system&Start) is too low - replace the battery (see Section 8).
  • Brakelight/switch check Malfunction - brake lights do not light when braking. Fix the malfunction immediately - contact an Opel service station.
  • Safeguard/check Malfunction - failure of the anti-theft alarm system. To fix the malfunction, contact an Opel service station.
  • In case of a fault in the external lighting, the corresponding source of the fault is indicated in text, for example: Brakelight/check right.
  • On models equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, if the pressure is too low, a message will appear indicating the tire that needs to be checked, for example:Tyre pressure/check rear rightturn (value in bar) — check the tire pressure at the earliest opportunity using a calibrated pressure gauge, preferably at the nearest service station.
  • If the air pressure drops significantly, a corresponding message will be displayed indicating the tire, for example: Attention! Rear left tyre pressure loss (value in bar) - You should stop immediately and check your tires.
  • Washer Fluid Level/check The windshield washer fluid level in the reservoir is too low - top up the fluid (see Chapter 1).

  • Note: If the fluid level is too low, the rear window and headlight washers (with appropriate equipment) automatically turn off.

  • Coolant/Level check The engine cooling system fluid level is too low - check the coolant level immediately (see Chapter 1).
