The vehicle starts in first gear or reverse gear. After depressing the clutch pedal to the floor, move the gear lever to one of these positions. To engage reverse gear, approximately 3 seconds after disengaging the clutch, press the lock button on the gear lever and only then engage the gear.
Attention: Engaging reverse gear is possible only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop!
If the gear does not engage, return the lever to neutral, briefly release and depress the clutch pedal again and try again to shift into gear.
Release the parking brake - the corresponding control lamp on the instrument panel should go out (see Section 16).
Slowly release the clutch pedal while slowly depressing the gas pedal.
Before moving the gear lever to the next position, fully depress the clutch pedal. After changing gear, release the clutch pedal slowly and smoothly.
Note: Frequent shifting of gears with incomplete disengagement of the clutch manual transmission can quickly fail.
The choice of gear must correspond to the driving conditions, the condition of the road surface and is largely determined by the experience of the driver. An experienced driver drives the vehicle at the maximum possible speed for specific traffic conditions, but at the same time it is necessary to constantly monitor speed limit signs.
Attention: Never try to exceed the maximum speed set for a particular gear (see specs)!
Do not keep your foot on the clutch pedal while driving. For faster acceleration of the vehicle, fully accelerate the vehicle in the current gear before shifting to a higher gear. If the engine starts jerking when you slow down by releasing the gas pedal, shift to a lower gear. Avoid hard pressing on the gas pedal, as well as abrupt downshifting when driving on slippery roads.
Note: When leaving the car in a parking lot, it is recommended to engage first/reverse gear in addition to applying the parking brake!
