Automatic transmissions are installed on parts of the cars in question. The transmission consists of a torque converter, a planetary gear, multi-plate hydraulic clutches and servo brakes. The transmission control is provided by the processor unit through 4 solenoid valves. There are three driving modes - economy, sport and winter.
Economy mode - standard, turns on when driving at low speed, provides the most economical ride with a light engine load. The sport driving mode is switched on by the toggle switch on the selector lever. In this mode, the transmission shifts up automatically at high engine speeds, improving the vehicle's acceleration dynamics. In the winter mode, which is activated by a button on the selector indicator panel, when the car starts off, third gear is automatically engaged. This ensures that the necessary grip of the wheels with slippery road surfaces is maintained by reducing slippage.
The planetary gear transmits torque from the engine at various gear ratios. Pressurized transmission fluid activates and deactivates a range of hydraulic clutches and servo brakes under the influence of signals from the processor unit.
Transmission control is provided by a selector lever, which is fixed in 6 positions. In selector position D, automatic change of 4 speeds is provided. For automatic transmission downshifting (increased gear ratio) when the throttle is fully opened, a kick-down device is provided. In selector positions 2 and 3, the car can move at speeds corresponding to two or 3 gear ratios, respectively, and in position 1, only the first gear ratio. It is forbidden to switch the transmission to positions 1-3 at high engine speeds.
Any automatic transmission repair is carried out in a car service.
