Door glass — removal and installation (Opel Astra G)

Front doors

1. Remove the inner door panel and water-repellent screen.

2. Disable the side airbag by disconnecting the battery from ground and waiting 1 minute. Loosen the bolts and remove the airbag sensor and bracket (please note that the airbag sensors for the left and right doors are different).

3. Remove the rear window regulator guide by drilling out the rivets that secure the guide to the frame (see photo).





4. On models with electric windows, temporarily connect the wire to the window switch and ground the battery. Position the window so that the window mounting bolts are accessible through the openings in the door frame and remove the bolts (see photo). On other models, install the glass by replacing the handle.







5. Tilt the glass forward, remove the roller - rear guide (if necessary, lower or raise the glass), lift the glass up and remove it from the door (see photo).

6. Installation is performed in the reverse order. Secure the guide with new rivets. First tighten the window regulator mounting bolts by hand, then lift the glass and lower it, then tighten the bolts.

Rear door glass (including stationary)

7. Remove the inner door panel and the water-repellent screen.

8. On models with power windows, temporarily connect the wire to the window switch and ground the battery. On other models, reinstall the window handle. Lower the window.

9. Carefully remove the rear guide seal, first unscrew the upper guide mounting bolt, then the lower bolts (see photo).







10. Carefully move the guide away from the fixed glass and remove it from the door (see photo).





11. Move the fixed glass forward and remove it (see photo).



12. Tilt the glass forward, lift it up and remove it from the door (see photo). If necessary, remove part of the glass seal.





13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
