If required, disconnect the negative battery terminal and unplug the connector from the vehicle speed sensor.
Unscrew the clamping sleeve and disconnect the speedometer cable from the upper side of the gearbox.
Turn away bolts of a plate of the holder and take assembly of a drive of a speedometer (pic. 7.10).
If desired, the speedometer driven gear can be removed from the sleeve, while paying attention to the location of the thrust washer under the gear.
After removing the driven gear from the hub, lubricate the gear shaft with a small amount of silicone grease, then slide the gear into the hub, making sure the thrust washer is in place on the gear shaft.
Visually inspect the o-ring on the bushing and if worn, replace it.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
