Apply the handbrake, then jack up the car and secure it to the supports under the axle.
On DOHC models, remove the lower splash shield as directed in chapter 11.
Note the location of the connections to the solenoid, then separate them (Fig. 12.8).
If necessary, remove the bolts securing the starter bracket to the engine cylinder block.
Unscrew the two bolts of the electric motor. Remove it.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal and tighten all bolts as required.
