For better access, disconnect the air lines from the air cleaner and from the air box or throttle body where required and remove them.
Disconnect the wires from the terminals on the rear of the generator, noting their location, or disconnect the plug connector (Fig. 12.1).
Remove the drive belt as described in Section 6.
Remove the two bolts and two nuts and remove the washers and insulating bushings, noting their location. Note the ground wire connected to the upper generator bolts (Fig. 12.2).
Remove the generator, being careful not to damage it.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Where required, check that the ground wire is located on the top bolt of the generator.
