Electronic control unit
The control unit is located behind the right side of the driver's footwell and door sill side trim panel.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the sill trim/driver's side footwell.
If required, unscrew the two nuts and remove the plug connector bracket in the driver's footwell.
Remove the two circlips from the uprights in the driver's footwell and move the mat aside to access the control box.
Loosen the two screws and lift up the unit in the driver's footwell, then disconnect the plug and remove the unit.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Control microswitches
The microswitches are installed in the front doors on the rear side of the outside handle assembly.
Remove the inner door trim panel and move the plastic sheet aside so that the outer handle is accessible.
Disconnect the microswitch clip from the back of the handle, disconnect the switch plug from the door wiring harness, then remove the switch (pic. 11.20).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Door lock motor
Remove the door lock as described earlier in the appropriate section.
Disconnect the lock drive rod from the motor.
Remove the two screws and remove the motor from the lock assembly (pic. 11.21).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Tailgate/trunk lid lock motor
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Open the trunk or tailgate, as appropriate.
Remove the screws and remove the lock cylinder faceplate (sedan model) or rear trim panel (hatchback and station wagon models).
Disconnect the wire from the motor.
Unscrew the two screws and remove the electric motor from under the trunk lid or tailgate, depending on the design, by unhooking the lock drive rod (pic. 11.22).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
