Replacing the fuel filter petrol models

Attention! When replacing the filter, observe fire safety measures with flammable substances! Do not use open fire sources and do not allow smoking near the workplace! Keep a fire extinguisher at hand!

1. The fuel filter is located on the bottom of the car on the left (in the direction of the vehicle's movement), next to the fuel tank.

2. Before starting work, release the pressure in the fuel supply system (see Chapter 4).

3. Place the vehicle on stands or lift it up. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter to collect any leaking fuel.

4. Mark the fuel inlet and outlet lines, for example, with insulating tape - the direction of fuel flow is indicated on the filter by an arrow.

5. Release the drain hose (see accompanying illustration) from the holder on the fuel filter and the parking brake cable from the holder on the bottom of the car.

6. Using a special device (for example, Hazet pliers 4501-1) disconnect the quick-release couplings (see accompanying illustration) fuel lines and remove both hoses. To avoid fuel spillage, cover the connections with a rag when removing the hoses.





7. Press down the plastic hooks (see illustration 20.6) and remove the filter from the holder. Be careful - the fuel filter is filled with gasoline, place it in a specially prepared container.

8. Before installing a new filter, reposition the quick-release clamps on it (see accompanying illustration). Install the fuel filter in the holder and fix it, the direction of the arrow on the filter housing should match the direction of fuel flow (from tank to engine compartment).



9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. After completing the work, take a short trip and check the fuel supply system for leaks.
