2. Remove the ashtray with the mounting housing (see Chapter 11) and remove the cigarette lighter from the socket.
3. Remove the cover (see accompanying illustration) cigarette lighter sockets from the center console.

4. Disconnect the 2 cigarette lighter socket wiring connectors.
5. Using a screwdriver (see illustration 28.3) remove the cigarette lighter socket from the light ring, then remove the ring.
6. Using a screwdriver, press out the latch (see accompanying illustration) and separate the socket with the lamp from the backlight ring. Replace the lamp if necessary.
