In Vectra we have, on the one hand, one of the traditional engines with two valves per cylinder. We call this engine an 8-valve engine after the number of valves.
On the other hand, there are more powerful engines with four valves per combustion chamber - 16-valve engines or 16V for short.
Return to the photos of the engine compartment at the beginning of the book. There you will immediately see the typical signs of the engines installed in the Vectra.
The exact engine type is determined by the engine number stamped on the engine block in the direction of travel on the left side of the gearbox flange, preceded by the type designation. In the table below you will find the most important technical specifications of the engines installed in the Vectra.
