The check is carried out with the engine turned off.
Lower the left side window. Stand next to the car.
Reach through the window and briefly turn the steering wheel back and forth.
Does the left front wheel turn at the same time from a straight ahead position? Watch the rim, as the elastic tire can "absorb" some of the turn before it starts moving.
If a gap appears, then the joints of the transverse steering rod should be checked. Replace the failed joints.
If the tie rod joints are OK, then the steering gear is the one you should go to the workshop for, as it is not easily adjusted.
