ABS cannot create a braking miracle, as is often assumed; the braking distance will not, under any circumstances, become significantly shorter.
To a greater extent, ABS helps maintain vehicle control under heavy braking. But this requires turning the steering wheel much further than usual. This is just one of the points that differs from the usual braking system:
Therefore, practice in a remote parking area full braking with a turn of the steering wheel.
While doing this, fully depress the brake pedal. ABS takes over the dosage of braking force for you.
This applies both to braking in a straight line and when the steering wheel is turned.
Do not be surprised by the pulsation of the brake pedal. When ABS regulates braking, this pedal pulsation is normal.
In extreme cases, even with ABS, you must release the brake pedal to save the sticky situation by turning.
