The oil pump is located in the chain cover, so the oil pump is removed at the same time as the chain cover.

Removal



Removal


1. Remove the screws and remove the pump cover from the inside of the chain cover.

2. Using a marker, mark the relative positions of the inner and outer rotors of the oil pump.

3. Remove the inner (left) and outer (right) oil pump rotors.

4. Unscrew the pressure relief valve mounting bolt from the base of the chain cover.

5. Remove the pressure relief valve spring and bushing.

6. Remove the pressure relief valve plunger and remove the sealing ring from the bolt.

7. Remove the safety valve bolt from the rear of the chain cover.

8. Remove the safety valve spring and plunger.

9. Clean all oil pump components and inspect the rotors and valve lifters for wear or wear. Replace worn components as necessary.

10. Assemble the oil pump in the reverse order of disassembly, taking into account the following points:
  • check that the rotors are installed in accordance with the previously applied marks;
  • install new sealing rings to the safety valve and relief valve mounting bolts;

install new sealing rings to the safety valve and relief valve mounting bolts;

  • tighten the oil pump cover mounting screws to the specified torque;
  • fill the pump with engine oil while turning the inner rotor of the oil pump.


Installation



Install the chain cover onto the engine.
