Heater casing — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

Removal

1. Remove the instrument panel.

2. Remove the front doors.

3. Remove the bolts securing the outer ends of the control beam to the front struts. Then remove the two upper guides and remove the left-hand threaded bolts from the ends of the beam.

4. Remove the lower air distributor.

5. On models with air conditioning, remove the cooler. The cooler must be removed by a professional using special equipment.

6. On models with engine compartment air conditioning, disconnect the hoses from the evaporator and remove the drain seal.

7. While working in the engine compartment, pinch the hoses that supply coolant to the heater radiator.

8. Disconnect the hoses from the heater radiator fitting by pressing the fitting and moving the locking ring.

9. Remove the three bolts securing the heater housing to the engine compartment bulkhead. The bolts are accessible from the engine compartment.

10. Remove the pollen filter housing. This requires removing the wiper motor and disconnecting the vacuum hoses from the housing. On 2.0L diesel models, you will also need to remove the outside air temperature sensor.

11. On models with electronic air temperature control, disconnect the harness connector for the servo and fan motors.

12. Remove the heater housing from the vehicle interior.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
