Engine — Assembly Sequence (Opel Omega B2)

1. Before you begin assembly, make sure you have all the necessary parts and tools. Read through all the procedures to fully understand the work ahead and make sure you have everything you need on hand. In addition to the tools and materials, you will need a blocking compound and liquid sealant (recommended sealant numbers are given in the text).

2. To save time and avoid problems, assembly can be done in the following order:

a) Crankshaft.
b) Piston/connecting rod assemblies.
c) Oil pump.
d) Pallet.
d) Flywheel/drive disk.
e) Cylinder head.
g) Tensioning mechanism, sprockets and toothed drive belt.
c) Inlet and outlet manifolds (see the relevant section).

3. At this stage, all engine components must be absolutely clean and dry. The components must be placed on a clean work surface.
