2. On carbureted engines, disconnect the warm air duct to gain access to the thermostat housing.
3. Loosen the clamp, disconnect the upper hose from the thermostat housing cover (photo).

4. Mark the position of the cover relative to the casing, then unscrew the bolts and remove the cover and thermostat (photo).

5. Remove the rubber O-ring from the cover.

6. It is not recommended to separate the thermostat from the cover, as they are supplied new as one unit.
7. Clean the mating surfaces of the cover and casing, prepare a new rubber O-ring.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Fill the cooling system as described in Chapter 5.
