1. Drain the cooling system as described in Chapter 3.
2. On carburetor engines, disconnect the warm air duct to provide access to the thermostat housing.
3. Loosen the clamp, disconnect the upper hose from the cover of the thermostat housing (photo).
4. Mark the position of the cover relative to the casing, then unscrew the bolts and remove the cover and thermostat (photo).
5. Remove the rubber O-ring from the cover.
6. It is not recommended to separate the thermostat from the cover as they are supplied new as one unit.
7. Clean mating surfaces of cover and housing, prepare a new rubber O-ring.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Fill the cooling system as described in chapter 5.
