1. Roughly the thermostat can be tested by dropping it on a piece of string into a pot filled with water. Bring the water to a boil and check if the thermostat has opened. If not, replace it.
2. If you have a thermometer, you can determine the exact opening temperature of the thermostat and compare it with that given in the Specifications.
3. If the thermostat does not close after cooling, it must also be replaced.
