Checking the Thermostat (Opel Insignia A)

To check the thermostat valve opening, perform the following check:

• 1. Completely immerse the thermostat in the glycol solution. The temperature of the solution should be 11°C higher than the value indicated on the thermostat valve.
• 2. Mix the solution thoroughly. Under these conditions, the thermostat valve should open.

To check that the thermostat valve is closed, perform the following check:

• 1. Completely immerse the thermostat R in glycol solution. The temperature of the solution should be 6°C lower than the value indicated on the thermostat valve.
• 2. Mix the solution thoroughly. Under these conditions, the thermostat valve should be completely closed.
