Note.
- Do not use chemicals to flush the cooling system.
- Store used coolant in a suitable container, such as an old expansion tank from a car.
- Do not drain used coolant to the ground. Ethylene glycol antifreeze is highly toxic. Do not drain the coolant into the city sewer system or ground water. This is illegal and harmful to the environment.
- Various methods and equipment can be used to flush the cooling system. If special equipment is used, the manufacturer's instructions must be followed. However, you should always remove the thermostat before flushing the system.
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Fill the cooling system with clean drinking water.
4. Start the engine and let it run at 2000 rpm until the thermostat opens.
5. Turn off the engine.
6. Drain water from the cooling system.
7. Repeat the above procedure until the water flowing out of the cooling system is colorless.
8. Drain water from the cooling system.
9. Fill with 3.8 liters of antifreeze concentrate, as some water remains in the cooling system.
10. Pour a 50/50 solution of antifreeze and clean drinking water until the liquid level stabilizes along the seam of the expansion tank of the cooling system.
