Note: The procedure described below is based on the Corsa C model. On Meriva models, the front seats are removed/installed in a similar manner.
Caution: When equipping your vehicle with side airbags, strictly follow the safety precautions (see Chapter 10, Section 11)!
1. Disconnect the wires and insulate the battery terminals. Wait at least 1 minute to allow the SRS independent power supply capacitor to discharge completely.
2. On Corsa C 5-door Hatchback models, remove the storage compartment from the sill trim (see Section 42) and disconnect the lower front seat belt anchor from the seat (see Section 50).
3. Move the front seat back as far as it will go, remove the decorative cover of the side airbag wiring connector and press the yellow release button (see accompanying illustration) so that the red button on the end of the connector comes out.
54.3. Side airbag wiring connector: 1. Decorative cover; 2. Yellow button
4. Pull the bolt in the direction of the arrows (A) and disconnect the connector.
54.4. Procedure for separating the side airbag wiring connector (with appropriate equipment)
Caution: Before disconnecting the side airbag connector, remove any static electricity by briefly touching a metal, unpainted part of the vehicle body, such as a door lock bracket!
5. Remove the 2 screws securing the front seat rails to the floor, then move the seat all the way forward and remove the 2 rear mounting screws (see accompanying illustration).
54.5. Front (A) and rear (B) front seat runner mounting screws: 4. Side airbag wiring connector

6. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Run the threads of the front seat mounting screws and the seat belt mounting screw, clean them and lubricate them with a fixing compound (for example, Loctite 243). After installation is complete, turn on the ignition and check the serviceability of the SRS using the indicator lamp on the instrument panel (see Chapter "Controls and operating methods").
