2. In the driver's side footwell, remove the bolt securing the steering column shaft to the steering gear shaft. Disconnect the shaft and set it aside.
3. Remove the battery and battery tray (see photo).

4. Disconnect the connector from the oxygen sensor.
5. On Zafira models, remove the bonnet seal, unscrew the nuts and remove the cover above the engine compartment bulkhead.
6. Secure the radiator by inserting the bolts into the side lugs.
7. Remove the power steering pump fuse from the mounting block on the left side of the engine compartment. Remove the fuse holder by removing the brackets and the electric pump wires.
8. Remove the nut and disconnect the ground wire from the steering wire harness. Mark the harness position, remove and set the harness aside.
9. Hang up the power unit (see photo).

10. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on stands, remove the wheels and engine guard.
11. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).
12. Remove the right wing protective panel.
13. Unscrew the nuts and disconnect the stabilizer rods from the suspension struts.
14. Disconnect the tie rod ends from the hub bracket. Unscrew the clamp bolts and disconnect the ball joints from the hub bracket.
15. Further actions are illustrated in the photo.


16. Mark the position of the gearbox control linkage and disconnect the linkage from the bracket on the subframe.
17. Place a jack dolly under the subframe, placing a board underneath it.
18. Mark the position of the subframe and unscrew the subframe mounting bolts (the bolts should be screwed in place during assembly). The subframe is secured with 10 bolts (2 front, 2 bolts above the suspension arms and 6 rear bolts to the bracket)



19. With an assistant, remove the subframe by passing the steering shaft through the floor boot (see photo).




20. Remove the steering gear, suspension arms and stabilizer bar from the subframe.

If necessary, remove the linkage bracket, press out and replace the rubber buffers (see photo).
21. Installation is carried out in reverse order (see photo). Make sure that when installing the steering gear, the lower part of the boot does not come out of engagement with the upper part. Otherwise, insert the lower part of the boot until it engages with the upper part (see photo).
