Rules for using this manual (Opel Vectra C)

The manual is divided into chapters. Each chapter is divided into numbered sections. Sections, in turn, are divided into subsections and, where necessary, into sub-subsections and consist of paragraphs (also sequentially numbered).

The text offered to the readers' attention is accompanied by explanatory illustrations. Each illustration is numbered in accordance with the number of the paragraph whose material it is intended to supplement. For example, illustration 4.6 explains the material of paragraph 6 of Section 4 of the current chapter. The only exceptions are illustrations included in the Introduction Section and numbered sequentially.

The description of procedures mentioned once in the text is usually not repeated a second time. Instead, if necessary, a reference is made to the relevant section (subsection, etc.) the relevant chapter where the procedure has already been encountered. References made without mentioning the chapter number refer to the relevant sections/paragraphs of the current chapter. For example, the reference "see Section 8" means that it is necessary to refer to the materials of Section 8 of the Chapter where the reference is found.

References to the location of a component or part on the left or right side of the vehicle are based on the assumption that the reader is in the driver's seat facing forward.

The descriptions in this manual are presented in a simple and accessible form. If you strictly follow the recommendations given in the text and accompanying illustrations, no particular difficulties should arise in performing the tasks set.

Due attention should be paid to compliance with the technical parameters and requirements for tightening torques of threaded connections, summarized in the sections of the Specifications and placed at the beginning of each chapter. The specifications should be followed when performing all work. Within individual sections, the necessary dimensions and values for adjustment are not always given. Simple operations, such as "opening the hood" or "loosening the wheel nuts" are taken for granted and are also not always mentioned. On the contrary, the most complex procedures and those requiring increased accuracy when performing them are described in detail in the text.
