Introduction to the Operation and Repair Manual (Opel Corsa B)

Contents: Purpose ⬇ Rules for using the Manual ⬇

Purpose

This Guide has been compiled to help the car owner get the most out of his vehicle. This objective is achieved in several ways. The data collected and presented below allows the car owner to determine what maintenance work should be done on the vehicle and when; and also whether it makes sense to try to do them yourself, or should you contact the service center of the representative office of the manufacturer, or a service station. The Manual includes descriptions of the procedures for mandatory routine maintenance of the car and a schedule for their implementation. In addition, the reader is offered information on diagnosing faults in vehicle components and systems, as well as ways to eliminate their causes.

Rules for using the Manual

The description of procedures mentioned once in the text is usually not repeated a second time. Instead, if necessary, a reference is made to the relevant Section (subsection, etc.) the relevant Chapter where the procedure has already been described. References made without mentioning the Chapter number refer to the relevant Sections/paragraphs of the current Chapter.

References to the location of a component or assembly on the left or right side of the vehicle assume that the reader is in the driver's seat, facing the direction of travel.

Descriptions of all procedures in this Manual are presented in a simple and accessible form. If you strictly follow the instructions given in the text and explanatory illustrations, no particular difficulties should arise in performing maintenance work on the vehicle.

Due attention shall be paid to the technical requirements and tightening forces for threaded connections as summarized in the Specifications placed at the beginning of each Chapter. The Specifications shall be followed in all work.

Some simple operations ("open the hood" or "loosen the wheel nuts") are considered obvious and may be omitted from the text. The authors of this Manual have tried to concentrate their attention on a detailed presentation of the most complex and important points.
