Jack up each drive wheel and secure the vehicle
Rotate the appropriate axle shaft and check both shaft seals for small cracks or brittle areas.
Are the fastening clamps securely seated on the cuffs?
Traces of grease on the cuffs serve as an alarm signal, since a lack of lubrication or penetrating dirt and moisture very quickly destroy the surfaces of the hinges.
Replace damaged seals immediately. To do this, the axle shaft must be removed and disassembled.
