Maintenance work
The drive shaft joints are protected from moisture and dirt by rubber cuffs. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check whether the cuffs have lost their tightness due to cracks.
Jack up each drive wheel, secure the vehicle
Rotate the corresponding axle shaft and check both shaft seals for small cracks or brittle areas.
Are the fastening collars firmly seated on the cuffs?
Traces of grease on the cuffs serve as an alarm, because a lack of grease or penetrating dirt and dampness will very quickly destroy the surfaces of the hinges.
Replace damaged cuffs immediately. To do this, the half shaft must be dismantled and disassembled.
