Constant control
Below values (in pressure bars), tire pressure should not drop:
If you are willing to sacrifice a small amount of driving comfort for more responsive steering, longer tire life and slightly lower fuel consumption, increase your summer tire pressure by about 0.2 bar. Winter tires should always be inflated 0.2 bar more than what is given in this table for summer tires.
Tip: Air pressure should always be measured with cold tires. Already after a few kilometers of driving at a good pace, the tire pressure rises by 0.2-0.4 bar. This increase in pressure due to heating is already taken into account in the air pressure recommendations and therefore should not be reduced. It is best to have your own pressure gauge, which can be used to measure pressure before driving in cold tires.
In order to be able to measure the tire pressure without removing the wheel caps, cars with steel rims have a valve extension.
