Anti-skid chains (Opel Vectra B)

If the grippiest winter tires fail, snow and ice can be mitigated with snow chains. They are a good purchase in areas with the appropriate winter conditions, but they also cost money.

In Germany, the maximum permitted speed with snow chains is 50 km/h.

Those who practice putting on chains at home before the first snow will hardly be afraid of installing and removing chains. Since chains on a clean road are subject to significantly higher wear, there is no need to leave them for a long time without need.

On the Vectra, snow chains may only be installed on the drive wheels.

Fit only chains with thin links that protrude no more than 15 mm from the tread and inside of the tyre.

Snow chains cannot be installed on tyres with size 205/60 R 15.

Tip: After dismantling, anti-skid chains should be washed with as powerful a stream of water as possible, cleaned with a brush and then rinsed in a bucket of water with a cleaning preservative. This will prevent traces of rust from appearing.
