General information about the gasoline fuel system (Opel Vectra B)

The fuel system consists of a fuel tank mounted under the rear of the vehicle, an electric fuel pump submerged in the tank, a fuel filter, a fuel line, and return fuel hoses. The fuel pump supplies fuel to the fuel line, which also serves as a reservoir for the fuel injectors. The fuel filter, installed between the fuel line and the fuel pump, cleans the fuel.

Warning! The fuel system remains under pressure for a long time after the engine has been switched off. Whenever the fuel lines are disconnected, the pressure in the fuel system must first be relieved.
