Full service every 30,000 km or 24 months.
Note: On models manufactured after 1994, level checking is no longer necessary.
1. Park the car on a level surface.
2. Remove the transmission fluid level plug, which is located at the rear left of the differential housing on F10 and F13 transmissions, and at the rear right of the differential housing on F16 and F20 transmissions (see illustrations). The oil level should be up to the base of the level plug hole.

3. If necessary, top up the oil level through the breather/filler hole in the gear selector cover. Remove the breather/filler plug and add oil until oil begins to flow out of the level plug hole. Install the level plug and breather/filler plug (see illustrations).

4. The manufacturer does not provide for replacement of transmission oil.
5. Periodically inspect the transmission for oil leaks and check the selector mechanism components for wear.
