Draining
Place a container under the fuel filter to collect water.
Unscrew the air bleed screw at the top of the filter and the water drain plug at the bottom of the filter and drain about 100 cm3 water.
Attention! Do not drain the entire contents of the filter!
Screw in the plugs for draining water and venting air.
Attention! After removing the water from the fuel filter, it is not necessary to bleed air from the fuel system.
Filter replacement
Unscrew the filter element from the filter housing using a special chain wrench (see fig.).
Attention! The filter is filled to the brim with diesel fuel. Take it out carefully with a dry cloth.
Check the presence and correct installation of the plastic ring 2. If it is loose, screw it by hand until it stops in the heating element 3.
Screw in a new filter element and fill the filter with fuel. Lightly dampen the rubber seal with fuel before installing.
Attention! Install the filter element without the middle sealing ring and retaining ring, which are included in the car spare parts kit and are used in old Opel filters that do not have heating.
Remove air from the fuel system.
Check the power system for leaks.
