Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.
Check for traces of oil on or near the covers.
Check the reliability of the clamps.
Using a portable lamp or flashlight, check the covers for cracks and tears. Replace damaged covers immediately.
If the cover has become depressed due to the vacuum that has developed, it should also be replaced immediately.
