2. Remove the drive shaft (see Chapter 8).
3. Measure the depth of the oil seal in the final drive housing.
4. Using a screwdriver or a bent tool, press the seal out (see illustration), being careful not to damage the surface in contact with it. Remove oil from the surface.

5. Apply a small amount of oil to the sealing lip of the new oil seal. Using a suitable metal tube, install the oil seal into the crankcase to the previously measured depth.
6. Install the drive shaft (see Chapter 8).
7. Install the wheel and lower the car to the ground.
