2. Apply the handbrake, then (where are there) unfasten from the bottom of the car and remove the thermal insulation shields to get access to elastic hinges.
3. When removing the rear elastic joint, detach the propeller shaft central bearing bracket from the bottom of the vehicle and support the shaft with an axial support.
4. Disconnect the cardan shaft flange from the elastic joint.
5. Disconnect the flexible joint from the differential and/or transmission flange.
6. Move the appropriate part of the driveshaft towards the central bearing and remove the flexible joint. If necessary, use a lever to press the driveshaft away from the drive flange.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal, paying attention to the following:

- a) attach the elastic joint first to the cardan shaft and then to
- transmission/final drive flange,
- b) tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified tightening torque Specifications,
- c) where necessary, install the central bearing bracket
- cardan shaft on the bottom of the car (see Chapter 11), install thermal insulation boards.
