Vacuum pump — removal and installation (Opel Omega B2)

Removal

1. Remove the boost air line, see the relevant chapter.

2. Disconnect the low pressure hose 2 from the vacuum pump 3 (see illustration).



3. Unscrew the mounting bolts 1 and remove the vacuum pump from the cylinder head (see illustration 6.2).

4. Clean the sealing surfaces and remove any remaining old sealant.

Installation

5. Secure the vacuum pump to the cylinder head, lubricating the bolts with red protective grease (see illustration). The tightening torque of the pump mounting bolts is 22 Nm.

6. Connect the low pressure hose to the pump and secure it with a new clamp.

7. Reinstall the boost air pipe, see the relevant chapter.
