Removal and installation a vacuum pump (Opel Kadett D)

The vacuum pump is installed on the left side of the camshaft housing in the direction of travel. It is driven by the camshaft. It creates the vacuum necessary for the brake booster to operate.

Removal



Unscrew the vacuum tube.

Unscrew the vacuum tube.


Use a socket wrench to unscrew the two pump mounting screws.

Use a socket wrench to unscrew the two pump mounting screws.


Remove the drive pulley and oil supply pipe.

Installation



Installation


Insert the oil supply pipe with new sealing rings into the camshaft.



Insert the drive pulley.

Insert the drive pulley.


Install the vacuum pump with a new sealing ring and tighten the bolts.

Screw on the vacuum tube.
