Belt tensioner, sprockets and idler pulleys (Opel Omega B)

Camshaft Sprockets



Removal



1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Lock the camshaft of the sprocket being removed.

3. Unscrew the sprocket bolt and remove the sprocket.

Installation



1. Inspect the camshaft seal and replace it if necessary.

2. If you are installing the sprocket on the intake camshaft, the shaft's alignment pin must fit into the hole on the sprocket marked "IN", but if you are installing the sprocket on the exhaust camshaft, the pin must fit into the hole marked "EX".

3. Place the sprocket onto the end of the camshaft and tighten the bolt.

Crankshaft sprocket



Removal



1. Remove the timing belt.



2. Lock the crankshaft.

3. Remove the sprocket bolt and remove the sprocket. You will need a new bolt during installation.

Installation



Insert the woodruff key into the shaft, install the sprocket and tighten the bolt.

Tensioner



Removal



1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the tensioner.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Intermediate pulleys



Removal



1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Remove the pulley mounting bolts and pulleys. Remove the pulley brackets if necessary.

Installation



Install the pulley brackets and pulleys.
