Camshaft cover (Opel Omega B)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ventilation hoses from the camshaft cover.





2. Remove the bolts and spark plug cover (drawing on the left), disconnect the wires from the spark plugs (drawing on the right).

3. Loosen the nut and remove the wire harness retainer at the top of the timing belt cover.



4. Disconnect the wire from the camshaft sensor and from the camshaft cover.

5. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.

6. Remove the cover and gaskets, replace the gaskets if necessary.

Installation

1. Carefully inspect and clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head. Install the gaskets.

2. Apply sealant N15 03 295 to the cylinder head surface around the front camshaft bearing caps and into the semi-circular cutouts at the rear of the head.

3. Install the cover, insert and tighten the bolts.

4. Install the remaining parts.
