Timing Belt Covers (Opel Omega B)

Outer cover

Removal

1. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.



2. Unscrew the wire harness retainer nut.



3. Remove the holder cover.



4. Disconnect the wire harness retainer and coolant hose from the top of the timing belt cover.



5. Remove the outer timing belt cover mounting bolts





6. Remove the outer cover.

Installation

1. Replace the cover. Make sure the outer rubber bushings are in place.



2. Place washers and rubber grommets on the cover mounting bolts, insert and tighten the bolts.

3. Install the wire harness holder and tighten the nut.

4. Install an additional belt.

Back cover

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Remove the camshaft sprockets and crankshaft sprocket. Remove the timing belt tensioner and idler pulley.

3. Disconnect the camshaft sensor from the rear cover.

4. Unscrew the rear cover mounting bolts and remove the cover.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
