One-piece oil pan



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.

3. Drain the oil and tighten the drain plug.

4. Disconnect the wire from the oil level sensor on the oil pan.

5. Remove the bolts securing the support brackets to the gearbox and cylinder block. Remove both brackets and remove the lower flywheel cover.

6. Unscrew the nuts of the left and right engine mounts, remove the bracket of the right mount.

7. Secure the engine to the lift.

8. Remove the oil pan bolts and remove the pan.

9. Remove the oil pickup pipe and the oil pan partition.

Installation



1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the oil pan, cylinder block and oil pump. Clean the oil pan and oil pickup pipe bolts.

2. Apply sealant N15 03 295 to the mating surfaces of the cylinder block.

3. Apply sealant N15 10 181 to the threads of the oil pickup pipe bolts.

4. Install the partition wall and tighten the oil pickup pipe bolts.

5. Apply sealant to the threads of the pan bolts, install the pan and tighten the bolts.

6. Install the remaining parts.

Composite oil pan



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.

3. Drain the oil and tighten the drain plug.

4. Disconnect the wire from the vehicle level control system sensor and disconnect the rod from the sensor arm pivot joint.

5. Remove the steering link rod.

6. Remove the nuts securing the left and right engine mounts to the body.

7. Secure the engine to the lift.

8. Loosen the front suspension crossmember bolts four turns. Secure the rear crossmember with a jack and loosen the rear bolts. Lower the rear crossmember approximately 10 cm.

9. If necessary, disconnect the wire from the oil level sensor and, after removing the retaining ring, press the sensor connector inward.

10. Remove the bolts and the oil pan along with the gasket.

11. Disconnect the wire from the oil temperature sensor and remove the bolts securing the bracket to the front section of the exhaust pipe.

12. Remove the bolts securing the cast pan to the gearbox and cylinder block. Remove the cast pan.

Installation



1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of both parts of the sump and the cylinder block. Clean the bolts of the casting part and the oil pickup pipe.

2. Apply sealant N15 10 181 to the threads of the oil pickup pipe bolts and tighten the bolts.

3. Apply sealant N15 03 295 to the mating surfaces of the cylinder block.

4. Apply sealant to the threads of the pan casting bolts, install the casting and tighten the bolts.

5. Install the outer part of the pan and tighten the bolts.

6. Install the remaining parts.
