Handbrake cable — removal and installation (Opel Omega B)

Removal

1. Remove the rear and intermediate sections of the exhaust system. Remove the heat shields.

2. Unscrew the fastening bolts of the central bearing of the cardan shaft. Install a support under the central bearing.



3. Loosen the handbrake cable balancer adjusting nut (indicated by the arrow), count the number of revolutions, and remove the balancer from the rod.

4. Disconnect the springs and cables from the handbrake levers on the rear wheel brakes.

5. Remove the cables from the vehicle.
