1. The inductive pulse sensor is located on the front left side of the cylinder block.
2. To test the sensor, disconnect the wire at the top of the motor and connect an ohmmeter to the two clamps on the sensor. The resistance must comply with the data in the Specifications. If not, the sensor is defective.
3. Resistance can also be checked at the control box by disconnecting the multi-pin plug. Clamp numbers are 11 and 12 on 1.8 models, and 23 and 25 on 2.0 models.
4. To remove the sensor, unscrew the fastening bolt with a key, remove the sensor from the cylinder block (photo).
5. Disconnect the wire contact, unfasten the cable from the cover of the timing belt drive.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
