High Voltage Wires — General Description (Opel Omega A)

1. High tension wires do not require any attention, just keep them clean and wipe them down regularly. When checking the spark plugs, remove each spark plug high tension wire from the distributor cap. Water can get into the connections, causing white corrosion. This must be carefully removed from the end of each wire and from the clamp socket in the distributor cap.

2. High-tension wires have resistance that can be checked with an ohmmeter. The resistance of each wire must be within specifications. Replace all high-tension wires if the resistance is excessive.
